Millions of Books Are Getting Tossed to Make Room For Study Spaces and Coffee Shops

Books are important when it comes to libraries. So why are many getting tossed out at universities?

Universities are trying to cope with the digital age. The young generation is mainly using digital devices for their reading. So circulation is lower among university students when it comes to real books and universities are getting rid of old volumes.

This was upsetting for academics who basically live in the library.

However, change is inevitable as times are changing. Resources are also required when it comes to retail, and digital makes things faster and cheaper.

Let’s also not forget that a library is not just for books. It’s a place where you concentrate and study. Environment is just as important. Maybe more space and coffee will attract more students to come to a library. Everyone knows that it’s easy to procractinate, harder to study and concentrate at home.
